07/18/76
Orpheum Theater - San Francisco, CA

This is the last show of a five-night run displaying the band’s segue creativity. This was also one of my first bootleg tapes. In my mind I could still envision the Maxell tape and my precise penmanship with a red magic marker. The highlight is this loop within a loop:  The Other One > St. Stephen > Not Fade Away > St. Stephen > The Wheel > The Other One

The exquisite return of Crazy Fingers after a six-year hiatus is the standout from this solid show. The Dead are en fuego during the first three songs of set two—high energy, good time rock and roll.
